How long do custom shutters take?
Most shutters are built to order and arrive in about four to six weeks. Larry installs them in one visit, usually in a few hours for a typical home.
Wood or composite, which should I choose?
Composite (also called poly or faux wood) shutters are moisture-proof and the best choice for bathrooms, kitchens and hot west exposures. Real basswood is lighter, so it works better on very wide panels, and it can be stained. Larry will show you both and recommend by room.
Can you put shutters on a sliding glass door?
Yes. Sliding doors are covered with bypass shutters that glide on a track, or bifold shutters that fold to the side. Both leave the door fully usable.
Do you do arched and specialty windows?
Yes. Sunburst arches, eyebrow arches, angled windows and French doors with handle cutouts are all custom built to your measurements.
Can plantation shutters replace my closet doors?
Absolutely. Louvered shutter panels make handsome bifold closet doors that let air circulate and match the shutters on your windows.
